Under limited supervision, process and handle construction processing from start to finish with emphasis on resolving the more complicated and challenging loans. Review the account with the customer, contractor and title company as needed to arrive at a resolution limiting bank risk and providing borrower agreement to resolution. Monitor and maintain accurate account information on all accounts and initial legal involvement as required. Oversee the day to day functions in construction processing. Judgment skills are critical as well as an ability to discuss accounts with customers, interact with outside professionals and other departments of Associated Bank.

Operates in full compliance with internal policies and procedures as well as applicable regulations and laws, including but not limited to Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering requirements. Responsible to report any procedure or process that doesnt meet regulatory requirements including fraud, whether suspected or confirmed, to management. This reporting can be done directly to any member of management, including Human Resources or Corporate Security, or can be reported through Associateds anonymous Ethics Hotline.

Protect the bank and customer from unnecessary exposure to loss. Identify through individual interaction with customer, title company and contractor the appropriate recommendations to guide the outcome of situation. At all times understand and take into account the value of the customer's entire relationship with us.

Thorougly review the plans, specifications, contractors line item cost breakdown, percentage of work completed compared to amounts already drawn and requested to be drawn; taking into account appraised value impact, to minimize risk and exposure and retain customer satisfaction when explaining outcome. Involve the original loan officer if applicable.

Respond, research, resolve, track, report and follow up on construction escalated cases.

Prepare and issue proper documents to the customer or title company to obtain necessary documentation for any agreed upon solution.

Respond promptly to a wide variety of telephone calls, written inquiries and requests.

Provide construction loan servicing, support and guidance on routine inquiries to Contract Servicing colleagues.

Maintain proficiency on mortgage loan computer systems to include documentation updates, reviewing new enhancements and recommendation of implementation and system problem solving.

Communicate information and direct documentation to attorneys, title companies, PMI companies, and bank customer service personnel to effectively maximize construction lending opportunities and minimize risk.

Maintain or exceed acceptable goal levels of construction loan draw requests.

Identify and prepare all documents needed to submit for legal guidance when warranted.

Assist department supervisor on as needed basis with special projects.

Administer policy and procedure through hands on training with new colleagues. 


Required Education: High School or equivalent combination of education and experience

Preferred Education: Associate's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

Required Experience: 2-4 years General banking with knowledge of bank policies, procedures and products.

Preferred Experience: 4-7 years General banking with knowledge of bank policies, procedures and products.
